Black Thoughts

(spotted at firedoglake)

Now you see why righties don't like Johnny Cash, he gave a damn about the poor.

Here's how our 'captains of industry' feel about the working class (hat tip to Jesus' General):

So they're going to be 'rioting in the streets' and it's the 'end of civilization' ? Well, I guess if you're used to have a bigger house every year and a new Mercedes to go with it, having to lower your expectations even a fraction so that a family could have health care would seem like the end of the world.

So it's only fitting to run this clip:

this line from Stewart hits home hard:
"Apparently, the only time you have to love this country is when it's controlled by Republicans.
One of the funniest bits is the string of speakers bad-mouthing Bush, followed by the uproarious greeting for him with chants of 'four more years'

which highlights just how hypocritical the GOP is.

Keep talking kids, please.

Aren't these the same people who have blighted our lives for the last 8 years? The ones who were so quick to shout out, "You're unpatriotic! He's your President, too! You must support him or you're no supporting the troops! Traitor!" Now they walk past Bush with their noses in the air as if they don't even know him and blame it all on Clinton, Obama, and even John Kerry! Based on their own words, they are now "unpatriotic", refuse to recognize that Obama is "their President, too", and so long as we have troops in the Middle East, they are now "traitors" for fai;lure to "support the troops". They are so lucky that Obama believes in a free society and they don't have to fear having their phones tapped, their every word in the internet monitored, and they can walk down the street and shoot off their overloaded mouths at will without fear of being "disappeared." Somehow, it just doesn't seem right.
