Drunken Brawl

From NPR
the D.C. Council recently created a flurry of controversy by passing emergency legislation that would allow bars and restaurants to stay open around the clock and serve alcohol until 5 a.m. from Jan. 17 through Jan. 21.

Lovely. The businessmen, seeing a chance to scrape up a little lucre figure 'to hell with the laws! Tell that council we bought and paid for to just turn em off! Besides, if the Dems get drunk, more reason for violence and maybe we'll get to shoot a few of em!'

If this idiocy is allowed, you can be assured there will be violence - drunks always live down to their lowest impulses and do insane and retarded things - even during the holidays. Longmont's certainly seen its share of that kind of alchohol-fueled stupidity.

"Emergency legislation." Yeah, some emergency! Nothing about public safety; no mention of a greater good in this "emergency." No, they gotta make it legal to get hammered all night, and do it fast. Leave it to D.C. to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt (through legislation, no less) that this is a nation of drunks. Longmont's just one out of many.
